Everyone has been inspired by the
tale of Winter, the dolphin who was rescued after being caught in a fishing net. Winter lost her tail, but she taught herself to swim using her flippers.
Marine biologists at Clearwater Marine Aquarium collaborated with a company that makes prostheses to craft a new tail for Winter. Trainers have worked with her to teach her how to swim again like a dolphin.
She’ll never be able to return to the wild, but that means that she’ll be here in Clearwater for a long time. Tommy’s on the Beach is just a few minutes from the Clearwater Aquarium.
